Abstract With an emphasis on using smart city technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) to produce cutting-edge application, this chapter will provide an outline of 6G research and its possible effects on society. This chapter explores the field of 6G research, beginning with how it was envisioned as the upcoming wave of wireless technology in 2019. By 2030, 6G is anticipated to be commercially available, with the potential to completely transform communication networks. The integration of cutting-edge technologies, such AI and ML, into smart cities is explored in this article, along with the use of 6G technology and any potential drawbacks. Additionally, it discusses 6G's accessibility from the network and user perspectives, as well as potential applications across multiple industries. The convergence of AI, ML, and smart city technologies is highlighted in 6G research as having the potential to revolutionize wireless networks.
