Abstract	In the context of the era of big data, researchers have started to build and promote smart cities after putting forward digital cities. Smart city belongs to the intelligent performance of digital city, facing many opportunities and challenges in the process of urbanization development, especially under the development trend of economic globalization, continuous innovation of science and technology, provides an effective basis for the construction and management of smart city. Therefore, on the basis of understanding the background of the current era of big data and the concept of smart city, this paper deeply discusses the engineering construction system of smart city, and makes clear the direction of future economic development to the construction of smart city. © 2023 SPIE.
