Abstract	The introduction of intelligent systems, technologies and solutions in areas other than transport is necessary for the modernization and development of cities and the creation of so-called Smart Cities. One of the possibilities for the modernization of cities is a form of digital transformation of a large amount of data from life in the city through a digital twin. The digital twin model and the use of modeling and simulations in the Smart City is one of the current trends in innovative solutions in Smart Cities around the world. In the post, I define the usability of the digital twin in the Smart City, taking into account the issue of safety and protection of city residents in the future. Currently, this trend is clearly in favor of the introduction of intelligent solutions into the everyday life of cities and their residents. © 2023 The Authors. Published by ELSEVIER B.V.
