Abstract Autonomous vehicles represent an important axis of smart cities. The circulation of autonomous vehicles in the form of Platoons is a promising technology for vehicular networks. Therefore, before starting the autonomous driving phase, it is necessary to think about a forming strategy for the Platoons. In this context, we will propose a new intelligent Platoons training service based on the collection of traffic kinematics data and their exchange between vehicles of the Platoon. This strategy takes into account the traffic speed in the Platoon training. Intelligent automatic scheduling according to the traffic speed (slow or fast compared to the road speed) allows increasing the traffic flow as well as minimizing the energy consumption. © 2023 IEEE.
