Abstract 5G networks and beyond are the next generation of wireless transmission technology, delivering significant enhancements over 4G LTE networks. These networks offer faster data rates, ultra-low latency, increased capacity, and greater spectral efficiency. They want to fulfill the increased need for data-intensive applications while also supporting new technologies such as self-driving cars and smart cities. 4G LTE networks, on the other hand, have velocity, capacity, and latency constraints. They may fail to fulfill the rising needs of modern applications while providing high-speed data access. Latency is substantially greater in 4G LTE networks, which might hamper real-time applications that demand rapid replies. Furthermore, when more devices are connected to the network, 4G LTE networks encounter spectral efficiency difficulties and might encounter network congestion. They may also be limited in their ability to meet the vast connection demands of the IOT.5G and future networks overcome these constraints by providing faster speeds, reduced latency, greater capacity, increased spectrum efficiency, and expanded support for new technologies. These breakthroughs pave the path for a more interconnected and efficient future, allowing innovative applications and services in a variety of industries. Finally, 5G and beyond networks offer a tremendous advancement in wireless communication technology, outperforming 4G LTE networks. The advancements in speed, latency, capacity, and spectral effectiveness enable them to accommodate a wide range of applications while also encouraging the development of novel technologies. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology and its licensors 2025.
