Abstract With the rise of digitalization and the increasing utilization of artificial intelligence (AI), the concept of digital twins holds great potential for revolutionizing various industries. By leveraging AI technology, the digital twin allows for real-time monitoring and prediction of an object’s current status and future behavior. This concept extends to processes, integrates AI, IoT, XR, and cloud for optimization. They serve as virtual asset replicas fed real-time data, analyzed by ML for quick decisions. The integration of digital twin and AI has significant applications in smart manufacturing, unmanned vehicles, and smart city transportation. By replicating processes using digital twin technology, data can be gathered and future functionalities can be forecasted. Creating a digital twin for an object or process allows for comprehensive representation and accurate prediction of its real-world counterpart. Tasks performed in the digital domain are faster compared to the physical world, facilitating accurate forecasting of object/process behavior. This chapter focuses on a use case of AI-driven digital twins in manufacturing, tracking manufacturing operations, monitoring equipment status, and ensuring process control. By digitally twinning manufacturing procedures, malfunctions can be prevented, minimizing financial losses.
