Abstract	With the upcoming arrival of the sixth generation of mobile communication technology (6G), the application prospects of digital twin technology in smart city construction have become increasingly broad. With its ultrahigh speed, ultra-low latency, wide coverage and high reliability, 6G technology provides powerful data transmission and processing capabilities for digital twins, making smart city management and services more intelligent and precise. This article aims to explore how 6G networks empower digital twin technology, as well as the specific application scenarios and potential value of combining the two in smart cities. © 2024 IEEE.
