Smart cities are nowadays a domain of interest for academics and professionals around the globe. In fact, subjects such as Internet of things, smart healthcare, smart agriculture.. etc, have emerged lately and constitute a major research area and an important way to an efficient and easy life style. Connecting devices is one of the most important concepts in this field, since it ensures communication between sensors, humans, machines or generally any device that may send or receive information. The importance and sensitivity of the exchanged information varies from one context to another, but it is mandatory to guaranty the maximum security and reliability of data in order to avoid any risks in these systems. In this paper, we focus on the security aspect in Mobile Ad hoc networks, which are a widely used type of smart systems. We analyze the important risks that threaten the physical layer of such networks. Then we discuss network performance in two scenarios, first, comparing multiple paths against single path protocol, second, comparing multipath protocol using ETX metric against hop count metric. © 2019 IEEE. |
