Abstract With the evolution of the (IoT) Internet of Things in smart life such as smart cities, smart grids, and smart agriculture, the correlation between smart objects is growing in the complex evaluation of efficiency components on intelligent systems. With the rise of IoT devices and current connectivity between cloud data centers, mobile applications, and human activities, energy efficiency is becoming one of the most demanding concerns. This Paper aims to discuss IoT architecture in smart applications, as well as a comparison of different technologies utilized in IoT-enabled smart applications. It basically emphasizes various energy consumption issues and challenges in smart applications. We explain how ongoing technical improvements in the Internet of Things (IoT) era provide greater options for managing these issues and enforcing Smart Grid, etc. It is a useful study for researchers who want to conduct good research in this area. © 2023 IEEE.
