| Abstract |
Recently, the internet of things (IoT) technologies are being applied in various areas, including industries, smart cities, smart homes, education, etc. The IoT technologies are able to measure data from a physical world and transmit it to cloud/server through a network for further use. The IoT systems adapt working procedures to automate them, which allows them to be remotely controlled by users. Furthermore, power consumption is reduced in ecosystems. In educational institutes, data gained from student devices is used for analytics and processes for increasing the students’ performances on lessons. In addition, devices become “smart” when artificial intelligence (AI) converges with IoT. The work in this chapter is divided into two parts. In the first part, IoT systems applied in the education sector are reviewed and IoT solutions are discussed. IoT solutions in wearable devices, healthcare, ecosystems, real-time monitoring, and smart classrooms are described and discussed. In the second part, a roadmap of the development process of IoT devices is proposed, including security, big data, and AI. © 2024 Scrivener Publishing. |
