| Abstract | A smart city is an urban region where technology and data-driven solutions are integrated to enhance ecological sustainability, a higher quality of life for the populace, greater connectivity for mobility like connected vehicles, and the efficiency of municipal services. A new era of smart cities has arrived with connected vehicles and autonomous vehicles. It has made a significant contribution to the growth of the smart city. cars that are connected and have a variety of technology and communication systems that allow for interaction with the creation of smart cities. Securing the development of linked vehicles and a smart city's smart infrastructure, which is what makes them possible, is more crucial. We need to understand the smart city's structure, the connected car and autonomous vehicle system architecture, and security issues of connected vehicles and how to secure connected vehicles for smart cities. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2023. |
