Abstract	Cities are increasingly playing leading roles in the battle against climate change. The main thrust of this volume was to build on the existing knowledge of the potential and/or actual contributions of smart city solutions and technologies to climate change adaptation and mitigation in cities. In this concluding chapter, we summarize some of the major contributions, elaborate on the need for integrated approaches to maximize co-benefits and minimize trade-offs, and discuss policy-relevant issues for a transition toward climate-resilient cities. © 2023 Elsevier Inc.
