Abstract Intelligent communities can support high population growth thanks to their well-designed infrastructure. They should have round-the-clock access to utilities like electricity and water as well as better IoT system functionality. This article describes the smart screen, which was designed with edge computing in mind and is capable of carrying out several computations as well as interacting with different apps and tangible objects. The main concept is to store as much data as possible near the edge of the network instead of on distant servers or in the cloud. The compute for offloading on adjacent edge nodes can be managed by the suggested design. It can perform the extensive IoT data editing and analysis required to satisfy the anticipated rise in demand from smart cities. This article proposes Sustainable Development with Edge Computing (SD-EDC), a novel strategy for sustainable development. For smart city utility situations, the system is deemed robust and practical enough. The virtualization software for smart cities uses Intelligent Display Analytics, which is derived from the Internet of Things data gathered by the edge computing architecture of a network. To solve problems like forecasting methods, immediate fashion computing, edge device resource management, etc., machine learning looks at previously gathered data. Lastly, a lot of implementation factors were handled in the created design, and the planning method effectively controls management data. Both criteria are used when mapping software applications for edge devices. © 2024 IEEE.
