Abstract	As cities compete for investment, skilled workers, and visitors, an integrated approach synchronizing land use planning, urban landscape design, smart city tech and tourism is crucial for long-term sustainability and economic dynamism. The continued expansion of the tourism sector exerts escalating pressures on land resources and disrupts existing land use patterns. The tourism industry exhibits a significant reliance on land utilization for natural landscapes, heritage sites, resort amenities, infrastructure, and other elements contributing to destination appeal. Every new tourism progress endeavour necessitates the repurposing of land from its incumbent use. Intelligent land use balances development needs with environmental protection via smart policies, zoning and predictive analytics. The urban landscape interweaving with the natural and built environments serves as the canvas for tourism experiences. Smart city innovations like sensor networks optimizing tourist mobility, navigation and personalized services catalyse a transformation of visitor experiences within the interconnected smart cityscape. However, for the harmonisation of these forces, the need for collaborative planning transcends traditional boundaries. The smart tourism paradigm requires coordinated multi-stakeholder policymaking across urban planning, economic development, transportation, environment and tourism promotion. © The Authors,published by EDP Sciences.
