Abstract Almost 70 percent of the Indian population resides in villages. Along with the development of smart cities, the progress of smart villages requires time to foster economic growth, enhance agricultural practices, promote healthcare, and provide education to their residents. Leveraging digital transformation, smart villages can modernize traditional rural facets. India holds its villages at the core of its nation, acknowledging that rural economic advancement is on par with urban economic growth. Facilitating farmers' adoption of IoT becomes imperative, empowering them to enhance productivity and cultivate sustainable growth. This research paper investigates the implementation and impact of IoT -based smart village initiatives in a rural community. The study aims to assess the effectiveness of these initiatives in improving the quality of life, promoting sustainable development, and addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by rural areas. The paper analyzes the key components of smart village projects, including connectivity, agriculture, healthcare and energy management. © 2023 IEEE.
