Abstract Over the past few years, during the Cov-19 pandemic, a great deal of smart city technologies have been used by the public health sector to fight against the common enemy of humanity. This paper studies the challenges faced by public hospitals and public monitoring. Meanwhile, it also introduces the application and development of smart city technologies, such as AI and IoT, in the field of public health during the pandemic. From a practical standpoint, the author believes that this pandemic has provided numerous opportunities for testing smart city technologies in public health. In the future, public health must be integrated with smart city technologies in a wider range to improve cities' ability to deal with major outbreaks and provide public health care. © 2023 SPIE.
