Abstract As we move toward a hyperintelligent society, the convergence of data analytics, AI,and blockchain technology provides us with unprecedented opportunities to solve complex societal problems. This chapter explores the huge potential of fusing next-generation data science with blockchain, an integration that is believed to be a fundamental pillar for implementing Society 5.0 objectives. The authors investigate the underpinning theories, potential implementations, and resulting implications of this convergence in different fields, for example, smart cities, the healthcare industry, the finance domain, andenvironmental management systems. This chapter also considers current use cases, constraints, and future scenarios. It describes how the fusion of data science and blockchain can be transformative, innovation-generating capabilities that are required to make informed decisions for driving digital transformation toward a more sustainable and inclusive society. The authors also investigate scalability, interoperability, privacy, and ethical concerns to give a full perspective on how Society 5.0 can be achieved by providing real-world examples and new system architecture. This chapter will guide researchers, policymakers, and industry practitioners looking to realize Society 5.0 to life. © 2025 Elsevier Inc.
