Abstract With the evolution of technology, Cyber-Physical Systems(CPS) have become an integral part of human life and have been contributing to every aspect of innovation solving real-world challenges. Cyber-Physical Systems have grown to exist in almost every industrial practice and domain today ranging from Transportation, Healthcare, Automotive, Smart Cities, Energy, Crime prediction to Education. Cloud-Based Technologies on the other hand have been evolving towards providing solutions to a versatile range of computing needs by building on-demand sharable cloud platforms to serve these use-cases of Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, IoT, and Cyber-Physical Systems. Various Industries have got benefitted from this and It has given birth to all new organizational and business models on a large scale. In this article, we provide an overview of recent advancements in computing for Cyber-Physical Systems primarily by highlighting ongoing research and development work in different industrial domains. This article includes elaboration on academic and industry perspectives for different use cases, trends in computing with Cyber-Physical Systems, and the development of cloud tools and technologies. We also attempt to expose some open challenges and research problem statements that need further study and contributions from researchers and industrial experts. © 2023 Author(s).
