Abstract The future of smart cities is the pivot on the strategic methods that lend a hand for sustainable development. This chapter gives an outlook on the social and economic confrontation reconciled by the smart cities. These strategies would increase the implementation of advanced technologies which could avoid various challenges that smart cities face in the present scenario. The implementation of AI (artificial intelligence) in sustainable development of smart cities will help one to improve the living habitats of citizens, providing more employees for economic development, social and community services, public services, easy accessibility to address climatic changes and to satisfy the economic policies. The implementation of AI also helps the authorities to access data easily and town planning more effectively by sharing and managing the data. This chapter also portrays an in-depth study on framework of the strategies, strength and the time taken, qualitative methodology and systematic review of the literature for the development of the smart cities.
