Abstract Mobility as a Service is a Transformation approach for the integration of different modes of transportation into a single platform and the study investigates the adoption and preferences of Mobility as a Service in Chennai, India, aim to improve urban transportation accessibility, convenience, and smart app-based integrated mobility system addresses urban transport complexities, The data collection methods, including social media, Google Forms, and bar-code scanning to capture passenger insights. The methodology including survey data and analytical techniques, user-specific preferences, and challenges connected to MaaS adoption are explored. Hierarchical and K-means clustering segment users based on demographics and technology adoption patterns, significance insights into user behavior and preferences. Exploratory Factor analysis uncovers key drivers influencing the existing statements on smart transportation. Results reveal a significant interest in Mobility as a Service platform, with 54% expressing high interest. Users prioritize convenience, affordability, and seamless integration across transportation modes, emphasizing real-time travel information and Multimodal trip planning for travel efficiency. Integrating MaaS with existing infrastructure and offering shared mobility incentives are highlighted for vibrant urban environments and promoting smart sustainable user-friendly transportation solutions, enhancing Chennai's urban transportation system. © 2024 IEEE.
