Abstract The Indian government is taking inspiration from the world’s smart cities. It is possible to create IT-enabled services in a smart city. An information technology is used by service providers to interact with city and citizens in order to determine a more direct urban organization and system. The smart city aspires to make the life foremost efficient and long-term use of all resources while balancing social, environmental, and economic consequences. This paper aims to make and implement an Internet of Things-based smart city using the Raspberry Pi Pico. The main goal is to develop an urban IoT system that will aid in the development of a smart city and also addressing domestic issues using cloud computing. Automation plays an increasingly essential part in today’s systems, with characteristics like waste management, garden automation, street light management, smart parking systems, and weather reports being atomized. An atomized system can work more effectively than a manually run system, saving human effort, and increasing system accuracy. Due to its simple-to-use features and cost-effective advantages, we choose the Raspberry Pi Pico because of the framework’s handling unit. People are expected to satisfy the requirements of city residents due to the rapid increase in metropolitan areas. It is easy to get things done with excellent city infrastructure because it allows people to explore nature around them, relax their minds, and feel the wildlife. After the environment has improved and people have become more comfortable and able to think more clearly, they self-organize and become more conscious. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
