Abstract	This study offers a comprehensive framework for using the Internet of Things to create smart cities (IoT). It investigates how IoT technologies are transforming urban settings with an emphasis on improving sustainability, efficiency, and quality of life.In order to demonstrate the crucial role that the Internet of Things plays in the development of smart cities, the study synthesizes recent research and looks at how data-driven insights and networked devices lead to more flexible and responsive urban administration. The report also discusses the potential and difficulties associated with putting IoT ideas into practice, including infrastructure needs, data security, and privacy issues. The suggested framework takes into account technical, socioeconomic, and environmental factors to help technologists, politicians, and city planners use IoT technology efficiently. The study also examines case studies of cities that have effectively incorporated IoT technology, offering useful perspectives and proof of the framework's relevance. This study adds to the expanding body of knowledge on smart cities by providing a thorough, interdisciplinary approach to IoT integration with the goal of building more resilient, effective, and citizen-centered urban futures. © 2023 IEEE.
