Abstract	In order to efficiently manage the resources in an urban city and provide a better quality of life to citizens, the concept of smart cities has been adopted by various governments around the world to create a more sustainable and liveable environment for them. Some of the most successful real-world implementations of smart cities have been discussed in this paper. A smart city integrates a wide variety of technologies like big data, Machine learning, Blockchain, Cloud and Edge computing under a single umbrella. Security is often overlooked while providing intelligent solutions to modern problems. In this chapter, various possible technologies and security threats in a smart city scenario have been highlighted by looking into the vulnerabilities of each of the technological components of the smart city separately. © 2023 Maanak Gupta, Ravi Tomar, Anuj Kumar Yadav and Hanumat Sastry G.
