Abstract The development of modernized societies is usually being led using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in Smart Cities. Smart City is a concept of the application of modern information and communication technologies to optimize the urban population while offering more comfortable lifestyles. The aim of this research is to propose real-time traffic control using AI in Smart Cities. AI-driven technology can be used to enable optimal utilization of space, promote efficient movement of people, predict traffic conditions, and control it in real time. The proposed system comprises various components like the deep learning model for feature extraction, Genetic Algorithm (GA) for clustering and prediction, and graphical user Interface (GUI) for the control system. In this research, AI will be used to predict traffic flow based on traffic data collected from surveillance cameras set up at various traffic signals and routes. Then, the AI algorithms would predict traffic congestion and recommend control strategies for traffic management several hours in advance.
