Abstract In this article we present an articulated model of the electricity generation system through renewable energies that, according to its exploitation potential, can be implemented in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador. In this case, the growing demand is considered in terms of new projects at the city level, such as the implementation of the tram and new future aspects contemplated in the legal framework such as the migration of electric public transport vehicles by gasoline vehicles, change of electric gas stoves according to the Energy Efficiency Law, the territorial development plan and its horizons of expansion. This article is part of a compendium of articles that analyze the generation-demand interaction in order to form a smart city. © 2019 IEEE.
