| Abstract | The purpose of this study is to identify the potential of the sharing economy in solving socially significant problems in the field of transport. In the course of the study, approaches to measuring the sharing economy were revealed, and the possibility of measuring the sharing economy both at the country level and at the city level was shown. Based on the Smart City Index data, indicators are presented that can be used to evaluate the services of the sharing economy in transport. Through correlation and regression analysis, the features of the influence of the sharing economy on the solution of socially significant problems in the field of transport were revealed. Namely, it is shown that absence of traffic jams among the services of the sharing economy is largely influenced by the development of carsharing, the relationship between the development of carsharing and the share of daily payment non-cash transactions carried out by citizens in cities with a population of more than 2 million people is shown. The theoretical significance of the results obtained is to determine the impact of the sharing economy on the development of urban transport, as well as road congestion. The practical significance lies in the possibility of using the obtained data for the development of urban infrastructure. © 2023 Author(s). |
