Abstract The customs, social features, economic bases, and other attributes of various cities vary, so it is difficult to suggest a general theory or specific remedy for the development of smart cities that takes into account the various construction scenarios in various locations [1]. Moreover, there is still a dearth of information regarding the possible drawbacks and problems connected to the expansion of smart cities. In contrast with developed nations, developing countries experience rapid urban population growth, low average education levels, stressful lives, and difficulty implementing many sophisticated management initiatives that call for cooperation or popular participation. These factors present challenges for the construction of smart cities [2]. © 2024 selection and editorial matter, Om Prakash Mahela, Baseem Khan and Puneet Kumar Jain. individual chapters, the contributors.
