Abstract Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are critical in various applications, from environmental monitoring to smart cities. However, optimizing the Quality of Service (QoS) in WSNs remains a challenging task due to the dynamic nature of network environments and resource constraints. This paper proposes an adaptive node placement strategy designed to enhance QoS metrics such as network coverage, energy efficiency, and latency. The strategy dynamically adjusts node positions based on real-time network conditions, ensuring optimal performance even as environmental factors change. Our approach is validated through extensive simulations across various network scenarios, demonstrating significant improvements in QoS compared to traditional fixed node placement methods. The results highlight the potential of adaptive strategies in maintaining robust and efficient WSNs, offering valuable insights for future network designs. © 2024 IEEE.
