Abstract The rationality of urban transportation network layout directly affects the operational efficiency of urban transportation system. In this paper, a smart city public transport connection network optimization method based on particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed. First, analyze the connection network mode and determine the network connection mode; Secondly, design the optimization objective and build the optimization objective function of the connection network; Set constraints; Then, considering the overall accessibility, set the connection point particles according to the particle swarm optimization algorithm, calculate the particle weight value, and solve the optimization objective function to realize the optimization of the public transport connection network. The results show that under the proposed method, the optimization error of the bus connection network is less than 0.30%, the coding accuracy of the connection point is more than 95%, and the time cost is less than 1.5s.
