Abstract Coordination of manifold energy carriers in dwellings is one of the key difficulties in implementing smart cities due to various competing goals. This study offers a unique visionary cost-emission-based system for optimal energy-gas consumption in a smart house within the framework of residential energy hubs, taking into account a significant trade-off between cost savings and environmental preservation. The model contemplates a variety of energy conversion resources, including energy and heat storage devices, combined heat and power units, as well as responsible electrical and thermal demands. The offered strategy can guarantee an ideal task scheduling for residents while reducing home energy consumption and energy costs. The plan is tested on a real-world case study using energy hubs, and the findings show that it is possible to save up to 46.16% on energy procurement expenses and 34.07% on emission costs while still providing the residents with coziness. © 2023 IEEE.
