Abstract Intelligent technology and gadgets that improve quality of life, increase sustainability, and save lives are what define smart cities. Drones and the Internet of Things (IoT) are two examples of innovative collaboration technologies that are essential to accomplishing these goals. Real-time applications are the primary use of drones and IoT in smart cities. Drones do, in fact, hold great promise for the public and civic spheres. They are useful in many situations where interacting with people could be risky or impractical. Drones may be used by future wireless networks to offer flexible wireless access, expanding their coverage areas and accelerating transmission speeds. In this research, we offer an analysis of the quality of service techniques used by communication protocols in an Internet of Things setting, and we propose a cooperative drone-Internet of things network architecture. © 2026 selection and editorial matter, Dr. Poonam Nandal, Dr. Mamta Dahiya, Dr. Meeta Singh, Dr. Arvind Dagur, Dr. Brijesh Kumar.
