Abstract The evolution of advance networking technology such as 4G Long term evolution(4G LTE), wireless Software De-fined Network(WSDN), Low power wide area network(LPWAN), 5G and so on makes compulsion for the emergence of intelligent services. On the other side the popularity and demand of various Internet of Things(IoT) applications like smart city, smart healthcare, Virtual reality, Smart traffic system etc. also increasing with exponential rate. The traditional cloud computing model is not well suited due to insufficient bandwidth and high delay may create loss of Quality of Service(QoS) to these diverse range of IoT applications. The Fog-Cloud computing paradigm offers various promising solution to provision the available resources for different real time IoT application. Fog computing supports various features like mobility, location awareness etc that gives additive advantage for emergence IoT applications. However the QoS requirement of these loT IoT applications varies from contexts to contexts. In this article we have reviewed various problem includes application placement, application offloading, task scheduling etc as a feasible problem in Fog computing environment that aims to allocate the services of various IoT applications to different resources available in Fog-Cloud sce-nario. We have proposed a three tier Fog-Cloud architecture that supports various IoT applications to meet their respective QoS dynamically. We also formulate various QoS parameters mathematically that need to be optimized for efficient resource provisioning as well as resource allocations. © 2021 IEEE.
