| Abstract | This paper demonstrates the implementation and performance evaluation of Interoperable Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to provide seamless integration and interaction among various smart community services. The paper explains detailed information like network topology, message format and sequences to enable smart services (Commodity Tracking (CT), Emergency Button (EB), E-Governance (EG), Smart Bins (SB), Smart Metering (SM) and Smart Street Lights (SL)) available in smart city corridors to interact with public and also with each other for better service. The services were implemented and analyzed for various technologies adhering to SOA architecture using the communication network simulator N etSim. The performance analysis evaluates the communication architecture of a heterogeneous network of technology like Wi-Fi and Ethernet. The paper also highlights the issues concerning interoperability standards like IEEE 2030, security and privacy concerns and scalability and energy efficiency of the framework. The paper provides the necessary information to identify the prerequisites and performance of the communication network in implementing various smart community services that enforce future research and real-world implementation with further enhancements. © 2025 IEEE. |
