Abstract This paper builds a LoRa-based IoT (Internet of Things) system, including a custom-made LoRa (Long Range) node, a LoRa gateway, and an app display page. We proposed a prototype of a low-cost, full-duplex LoRa device. The system forms a seamless coverage scene with LoRa nodes, while the LoRa master node can act as data relay to the LoRa gateway. To measure the overall performance of the LoRa device, we evaluated the Total Radiated Power (TRP) of the LoRa node in a reverberation chamber (RC). This work may provide an opportunity to compare the overall performance of the LoRa communication systems. The proposed system can be well applied to smart city, industrial and agricultural application scenarios. © 2022 IEEE.
