Abstract The accessibility of a city to everyone, including people with disabilities (PWD) is complex and includes factors often missed by typical city scrutiny and data collection methods. Interestingly, improving the accessibility of infrastructures for PWD improves not only access for the targeting population, but more generically creates a more inviting and welcoming city for everyone. Improved accessibility can be achieved in two ways; one obvious and direct, and the other more tangential. First, directly increasing the accessibility of the city infrastructures and programming is preferred, but is difficult to finance and can be a lengthy process. Second, a less direct, but maybe even more powerful method is to create information systems for city patrons that describes and rates barriers. This way city users can plan which services to use and how best to access them. © 2021 IEEE.
