| Abstract | Vietnam is a developing country in which traffic and urban infrastructures are not synchronized and no continuous connections have been created, and the ability to meet traffic needs and traffic safety is still limited. This is a good opportunity to apply the smart city components in Vietnam's infrastructure. One of the components of a smart city with sustainable development is the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). It is not just a smart transportation system but also a science and technology designed to minimize the travel time of people and goods. It also promotes safety thanks to the proper allocation of available resources, especially it can help increase the mobility, of a large number of passengers and the high demand for accurate and timely information for passengers. This paper presents key factors affecting the development of ITS in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. © 2022 Author(s). |
