Abstract This paper explores the integration of Ultra-Dense Networks (UDN), Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA), and Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer (SWIPT) to address the pressing need for efficient resource utilization in 5G and emerging 6G systems. This is particularly promising for applications in high-density smart cities and IoT systems where energy conservation and spectrum efficiency are crucial. By adopting NOMA for spectral efficiency (SE) and SWIPT for sustainable energy harvesting (EH), we present a framework that maximizes UDN performance in terms of capacity, coverage, and energy efficiency (EE). Through simulation, we demonstrate that this NOMA-SWIPT-enhanced UDN model effectively reduces energy consumption and mitigates spectral and energy inefficiencies, offering a scalable and efficient solution for dense, next-generation wireless networks. © 2025 IEEE.
