| Abstract |
The majority of the latest inventions focus on the use of cutting-edge technologies like blockchain, the internet of things (IoT), and machine learning in the implementation of augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) systems for social learning. As the AR companies are deploying their AR clouds, it is expected to integrate blockchain technology with AR for various purposes like gaming, healthcare, and simulations in many ways in the near future. Blockchain is a technology in the form of a digital ledger for storing the transactional records (the blocks) of the public in various databases called chains in a well-connected network through peer-to-peer nodes. AR is the technology comprising enormous promises that are emerging to unlock the full potential of the IoT in all fields, whether it is healthcare, gaming, or social learning. AR applications are using various kinds of data generated by IoT devices and components to help the developers to be more effective and productive to make users more excited and enjoyable. AR and artificial intelligence are closely related technologies for application developers to combine for creating different experiences for users. This chapter discusses the infrastructure requirements in terms of blockchain and the IoT in AR/VR environments for the simulation of various things. The chapter includes simulation examples in the domain of e-games, smart cities, amusement and theme parks, and so on. The presented simulations are 6G supported and the real/virtual objects are captured by cameras equipped with IoT sensors. © 2024 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston. |
