Abstract The integration of cloud computing and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies has created new opportunities in the fields of data management and service delivery. This study examines the creative strategies for combining cloud computing with IoT, with a specific emphasis on inventive techniques for managing data and improving service delivery mechanisms. First, we analyse the fundamental principles of cloud computing and IoT, emphasising the harmonious relationship between these two fields. Now, we will explore the difficulties that arise with incorporating cloud services into IoT setups, including concerns around data security, scalability, and the need for real-time processing. Our research focuses on doing a thorough review of the most advanced strategies used for managing data in cloud-IoT systems. We examine the function of edge computing and fog computing as intermediary tiers that connect IoT devices with cloud data centres. In addition, we explore the utilisation of sophisticated data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in cloud-IoT ecosystems. These technologies provide intelligent data processing and the provision of predictive services. Additionally, our study examines the novel service delivery models that arise from the convergence of cloud computing and the Internet of Things (IoT). We examine the influence of cloud services on Internet of Things (IoT) applications, encompassing smart cities, healthcare, transportation, and industrial automation. The article showcases case studies that exemplify the pragmatic application of cloud computing in Internet of Things (IoT) situations, elucidating the advantages and difficulties experienced in actual installations. Ultimately, the paper highlights the significant capacity for synergy between cloud computing and IoT technologies. This text explores innovative methods that are influencing the future of data management and service delivery, leading to more effective, adaptable, and intelligent Internet of Things (IoT) applications. This research adds to the continuing discussion on the incorporation of new technologies and provides a guide for professionals and scholars in the sector. © 2024 IEEE.
