Abstract With the growing advancement in the field of technology., it is seen that artificial intelligence is becoming the need of the hour., with the advent of self-driven cars., smart cities., healthcare robots and many more. The probability that AI will soon relieve humans of the daily tasks that humans usually do and as such the trust in this technology must be paramount. As society is diving deeper into understanding the prospects of this technology., the dilemma of whether it is capable to be empathetic enough to replace human intelligence is chanced upon and should be addressed. The various issues such as human sense and empathy are lacking by any AI algorithm., the security of data as well as the misuse of personal information., the opaque nature of the algorithms., and the level of authority between humans and AI have made for the rethinking of the ethical issues. The cost of ethical issues which is being understood by humans may not be fully understood by these artificial brains and therefore it becomes imperative to evaluate their ethics. In this paper., the main focus is on the fundamentals of ethics as well as a framework is proposed for evaluating and ensuring that the technology being used shall adhere to the moral rules and would not be used for illicit purposes. The various reasons for which the study of ethical AI is becoming imperative are also highlighted as well as a solution to the saidissues is given in the paper. © 2023 IEEE.
