Abstract The aim of this paper is to present the stage of development of the concept of energy community at the level in the European Union and Romania, but also the benefits of its implementation. The case study is conducted for a residential complex made up of 75 houses in which is presented the existing situation and the proposed variant with photovoltaic systems, energy storage, car charging stations and energy management with the development of the energy community. © 2023 IEEE.
