Abstract This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the impact of e-government on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), examining 137 peer-reviewed articles from the Scopus database (2005–2024). The research maps the evolution of scholarly discourse, identifies key contributors, and highlights emerging themes such as transparency and accountability, smart cities, digital service delivery, quality education, health care services, and the role of emerging technologies like AI and blockchain. The findings reveal a significant surge in publications after 2015, coinciding with the UN's adoption of the SDGs, with an annual growth rate of 17.94 %. India, China, and the USA emerge as leading contributors, while least-developed countries remain underrepresented. The study underscores the transformative potential of e-government in advancing SDGs but calls for greater interdisciplinary collaboration, longitudinal studies, and inclusive policies to address digital divides. These insights aim to guide policymakers and researchers in leveraging e-government for equitable and sustainable development. © 2025 The Authors
