Abstract Smart City is an emerging concept that meets the needs of today's urban development. However, when implementing the above concepts, it is necessary to determine the factors that contribute to the success of urban development goal. This study conducted a policy formulation in term of strategy and development mechanism for Pathum Thani to exploring driving factors of smart city development. By gathering data of 1,000 sets from questionnaire survey from the residents in the study area which was input into the statistical analysis process to identify the factors that have an impact on driving Pathum Thani smart city development. Including the consideration of an understanding about pattern of urban development, it is the signification finding ways to drive smart city development by integrating knowledge based to create a real smart city.
