| Abstract |
Social characteristics which are usually long-term stable have attracted particular interest for routing in Mobile Opportunistic Networks (MONs). Although social-aware routing approaches are shown to achieve superior performance, they are usually destination-agnostic since social metrics are measured without destination information. To this end, we propose a Destination-Aware Social routing scheme for MONs, namely DAS, which combines the advantages of destination-aware betweenness centrality and spread of epidemic disease. When forwarding, DAS utilizes a destination-aware social metric to make routing decision. Only a small number of replicas for a message are disseminated based on susceptible/infective (SI) model to ensure that the overhead is small and controlled. We conduct extensive simulations using real trace data sets to show improved performance with low overhead compared to existing social-aware routing approaches in various scenarios. © 2018 IEEE. |
