Abstract Parking has become a significant challenge in smart cities, exacerbating traffic congestion and wasting valuable time. To address these issues, this paper proposes a web-based smart parking system that allows users to effortlessly book parking spaces in real-time. The system leverages IoT technology to provide immediate updates on parking slot availability, offering a cost-effective and scalable solution. Users can easily view available parking spaces, and upon booking a spot, the system marks it red while highlighting other available slots in green. Reservations can be made through credit card or net banking, and users have the option to cancel bookings within 20 minutes. If users fail to arrive on time, the reservation is canceled, and the payment is refunded. After a successful transaction, a unique parking number is sent to the user via email or Web-based for further reference. This smart parking solution improves the overall parking experience by reducing time spent searching for spots and mitigating traffic congestion. Its user-friendly interface and adaptability to various parking scenarios set it apart from existing solutions, making it a valuable tool for enhancing urban mobility. © 2025 IEEE.
