Abstract In recent years, faced with the double challenges of global water scarcity and urban population surge, the traditional artificial water meter reading method is low in efficiency and difficult to meet the needs of modern urban management[1]. In order to comply with the development trend of smart city, this paper innovatively designs a smart iot water meter system based on LoRa communication technology. With the STM32 development board as the core, the system integrates high-precision water flow sensor, real-time temperature and humidity monitoring sensor, intuitive OLED display screen and automatic SG90 servo motors water valve control, realizing intelligent water metering, accurate cost calculation, real-time environmental status monitoring and remote control. The experimental results show that the system has excellent stability and real-time performance in data transmission, which ensures accurate and accurate data and instant feedback. This breakthrough design not only greatly reduces the burden of manual meter reading, but also improves the efficiency and accuracy of water resources management, explores a new direction for the progress of smart water meters, and provides an efficient and feasible solution. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
