Abstract Due to its long-range and low-power characteristics, LoRa has become a key enabler for numerous AIoT applications, ranging from smart cities to industrial automation. However, current LoRa networks face significant challenges in real-world deployments. Specifically, the slow transmission rate and low spectrum utilization stem from LoRa's limited data rate and transmission efficiency. In this paper, we propose a novel demodulation method, D-CSS, which cleverly leverages frequency differences within the LoRa preamble to modulate data, forming a Dual Chirp structure. Through practical deployment trials using USRP devices, we demonstrate that the Dual Chirp structure effectively enhances the preamble, enabling LoRa to achieve a throughput of 200 symbols/S while maintaining a SER < 5%, even under extremely low SNR conditions (< -5 dB). © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
