One of the most important variables affecting the PV system’s ability to produce power is the tilt angle. This research provides a method for maximizing photovoltaic (PV) panel production throughout the year by determining the most appropriate tilt angle. The ideal tilt angles and orientation for the solar photovoltaic system on a daily, monthly, seasonal, and annual basis are identified for the smart city of Bhubaneswar, India, using a mathematical approach in MATLAB programming. The study is performed for a real-time 11 kWp solar photovoltaic system installed on the rooftop of a constituent institute in eastern India. Furthermore, the ideal tilt angle significantly influences overall power generation, which is investigated in this study. The results show that altering the tilt angle 12 times a year could increase PV panel power output by 4.5 percent. © 2024 selection and editorial matter, Renu Sharma, Dilip Kumar Mishra and Satyanarayan Bhuyan; individual chapters, the contributors. |
