Abstract As the human population continues to grow and urbanization keeps up, the traffic situation in cities is getting more and more difficult, which also means higher air pollution and addition to global warming. The desired action is to effectively manage traffic flows and decrease the number of vehicles, especially those stuck in traffic jams. A possible solution might be to move a significant number of commuters and travelers from individual to public transport. In recent years, there has been a huge effort put into Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), that use real-time traffic data. Thus, analysis of related data is needed to set out the next strategy. In this paper, we describe how such data collection and analysis can be done in the city of Bratislava following public transport vehicle movement and delays, current weather, and information related to traffic accidents and road closures. © 2022 IEEE.
