Abstract In urban settings, where street lighting is essential for safety and security, the proposed system stands as a transformative solution. Through the utilization of IoT technology and cutting-edge fault detection algorithms, it provides a proactive approach to identifying potential issues within the street lighting infrastructure. By continuously monitoring the system, it can swiftly detect problems such as bulb failures, power irregularities, and wiring faults in real-time. This proactive identification not only minimizes downtime but also significantly reduces maintenance costs by addressing issues before they escalate. Furthermore, the integration of GPS modules offers precise location tracking of faulty street lights. This feature enables maintenance crews to efficiently prioritize tasks based on the geographical distribution of issues, optimizing their routes and ensuring timely resolution. Overall, the system's capabilities empower urban authorities to increase the reliability, efficiency, and total effectiveness of street lighting systems, thereby contributing to safer and more sustainable urban environments. By continuously monitoring the performance of street lights and detecting issues promptly, authorities can address maintenance needs more efficiently, minimizing downtime and ensuring consistent lighting levels across urban areas. Moreover, the scalability and adaptability of this system make it well-suited for deployment in various urban settings, from bustling city centers to quieter suburban neighborhoods. © 2024 IEEE.
